I am so sorry to hear of your great loss as there is nothing more painful than the loss of a loving companion. I always tell people that if you get your companion to live 10 years you have done a wonderful job anything over that is a true blessing. So you have done both a great job and have been very very blessed. This does not fill the hole in your heart .It does not bring back the pitter-patter of little paws that ran to greet you when you walked in the door. Just remember how it felt too run your hands through her fur in the evening as you watched TV together or read your favorite book. The smiles that lit up your face when she done something that was truly amazing. Sometimes we wonder how our hearts could be won over by something with four legs. As the years passed we forgot that she was a dog for she become the one steadfast thing in our lives that we felt would all ways be there to share our joys and disapointments of just plan living. She had become one of the best members of your family.
I truly believe they are special little creatures that god has given us to show us what the true meaning of love really can be. You knew she would never leave you until God called her home. But the one great thing that will linger on forever are the memories. Just remember it’s OK to cry for our tears that we cry go to heaven to water the gardens in heaven were Katie now plays. She is there with all of our loved ones that are waiting there for us. Katie now brings smiles to all the little children who did not have a fury companion in this lifetime. So Katie lives on in our hearts .At night when you go to sleep you may see Katie running in the gardens of heaven that are growing because of our tears of joy and sadness. No tear that slips down our face or we wipe from someone else’s cheek is wasted because God saw the need for everything he created that includes the tears that are needed to make the golden gardens in heaven grow.

So very sorry for your loss,
Janet and Larry
